B2… What to read? WHERE TO READ?? W.H.Y.???

Pública

Because you should only read masterpieces.
Because one fault, doesn´t matter; meaningless writings are horrible.
Because it´s boring and boring and boring to read English as a crossword and crossword and crossword.
But, particularly, because THE BEST WORDS RECENTLY WRITTEN IN ENGLISH ARE MUSICAL WORDS
The beautiful words, the words that belong to Humanity, the most poetical words, the words that really reach people, the words that are like classical tragedy, the words that are «opera libretto», the magic words are…
SONG LYRICS!

And there they are, waiting.
Waiting to be learned by all the English students.
Waiting to be considered as canonical words.
Waiting to be more, and more, and more loved by everyone who wants to learn the language of ellipsis par excellence…
Waiting to be seen.
Waiting to be eaten, as if they were strawberries in a deserted strawberry field.

17/05/2025 Learning English with books rated at my level (Cambridge books)

There are nowadays some English learning books that, I guess, must have been written by AI. I have not proof, IT IS JUST (it is only) a suspicion (suspection). The reasons are as follows (the following):

  1. The structure of the relationship between the characters is pathetically simple. I cannot find, right now, an example of any welldone structure (because my fichero fill is very desordenado messy) but it is a fact.
  2. The places seem to be the places from the television series of the last century: luxury, middle or high upper class, parties, well-dressed people…
  3. Both subjects The topics (medicine and crime) are the best regarding interest in terms of people´s general interest in them.

But the book is terribly boring, full of  filled with passages where nothing significant occurs. Passages that are what in English is called fluff. Or worst: passages where AI is demostrating that it knows things that for us, human beings, are evident  are obvious to us, humans.

Obvious for to us? This is That is the big question. Because while people in general is getting more and more become increasingly desconected from the non virtual world, situations are becoming more and more become increasingly unfamiliar to them. I guess that the book in questión was made in a similar way as similarly to tv series: series that fill people´s mind with all the nonsenses that, on the other way  hand, Cambridge dislikes and would like to erradicate  eradicate.

Well, the book is completely full of phrasal verbs. But instead of arise the sparking interest in phrasal verb, the reader sees how their interest in literature is getting to the sunset. diminish. Is it worth instrumentalizing art? It is not worth it. It happen the same with tv series. The same goes for tv series. They don´t teach Phrasal Verbs, but instead try to legitimate theirselves selling as fuff topics, sell trivial, everyday topics, that wich are very important at the beggining at first, but al last they became odious over time.

A dark blur (extrange version of Strawberry Fields)

Let me take you down, because I am going to… tatatataaaaaaa, tatatataaaaaaaaaa, and nothing to get hung about ta ta ta ta ta forever.
So many things before our eyes keep us from thinking…
So many things confuse us…
It’s really hard to be someone, you know? Someone is now a dark blur,  you know?
Let me take you down, because I am going to… tatatataaaaaaa, tatatataaaaaaaaaa, and nothing to get hung about ta ta ta ta ta forever.
Someone picks strawberries from sunrise to sunset. Writing, reading, listening -but not hearing.
It will not works out. It matters.  You can tune out if you want.
You can also tune in.
Let me take you down, because I am going to… tatatataaaaaaa, tatatataaaaaaaaaa, an one nothing to get hung about ta ta ta ta ta forever.

And the most poetic words are also the most memorable.
Let them be, once and for all, part of the World´s Heritage!
They’re mine!
Don’t steal them from me!

Cocopyright. Songs that make money in the world—songs that belong to my heart, residing in its deepest place. And the money they make belongs to me.
[Here I learn: tune out, tune in, take down, hung about, keep from, work out.]

Bischofberger U (2025) My field is very small and has very few strawberries, Mr. McCartney. (Foto de alta resolución.) Subtítulo: Y tú, I’m really sorry, I’m so sorry, I’m totally sorry… ya no eres para nada un Beatle. ¡Cosas que pasan en la vida! ¡Qué se le va a hacer!  La avaricia rompe el saco que decimos en Spanish.

This wonderful photo of the dog comes from here; I have used it in my collage, at the beggining of this post, that is called The origin of the series
